ETHM’s Young Ladies of Distinction Club is a specialized Conflict Resolution Centers (CRC) program that will enable girls to resist gang-related behaviors, crime, violence, teen pregnancy, alcohol, drug, and tobacco use. The Club is a character education initiative that will equip girls (and their mothers/guardians) with the following specific life skills and prevention tools:

	Critical thinking
	Conflict resolution
	Decision making
	Communications
	Planning & Organization
	Problem solving

The Young Ladies of Distinction Club is a component of ETHM’s career development program, Pathways to Career Success offered through the Youth Development and Empowerment Program (YDEP) Institute at Bladensburg High School (BHS).

The Port Towns Youth Council (PTYC) is launching a Young Ladies of Distinction Club initiative for selected Bladensburg High School girls and their mothers (or female guardians), during the Spring semester of the 2006–2007 academic year.

In a series of four (4) dynamic workshops, our young ladies will engage in character education experiences that will help them learn how to distinguish themselves by behaving with dignity, be good citizens by serving others and their community, apply good etiquette and sound protocol principles, and begin to launch their careers and market themselves with competence, confidence and credibility.
