Overview
Through ETHM’s holistic approach to education, ETHM annually boast a 95-100% graduation rate of Bladensburg High School’s (BHS) students who participate in its college and workforce readiness program, Pathways to Career Success (PTCS) program. Its mission is to build and empower youth to lead and impact the health and wealth of the Port Towns and Prince George’s County communities by equipping youth with educational, social, moral and economic life skills.
There are two major goals/objectives to ETHM’s school-based college and workforce readiness program:
- Help increase BHS’ on time graduation rate, decrease student dropout, and decrease suspension rates by having students (with their parents) to establish and achieve academic, career, and health goals, and
- Empower students with awareness of how to reduce and prevent health and economic disparities by choosing Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) lifestyles and achieving livable wage careers.
ETHM’s Bridging the Gap initiative focuses on closing education, health, poverty, morality, safety, and economic disparities that exist for youth and their families who live, learn, work, worship, and recreate in Port Towns and other urban Prince George’s County communities by focusing on on-time graduation of students who participate in ETHM’s PTCS program.
With over 20+ years of service in Prince George’s County, ETHM has developed into an award-winning multidimensional youth focused organization successfully developing youth into school and community leaders vested in the health and welfare of the community.
