Conflict Resolution Centers (CRCs)
Youth leading communities in violence and crime prevention

Conflict Resolution Centers (CRCs) are designed to provide youth (8-18 years old) and their parents with violence prevention and conflict management life skills in safe and caring environments within Prince George’s County communities in which they live, attend school or worship. Youth and their parent(s) will acquire:


Practical conflict resolution skills
Good communication skills
The ability to handle peer pressure, gangs and dangerous situations
The ability to recognize triggers to violence: drugs, alcohol and guns
Knowledge of the criminal justice system
Skills to bridge racial divisions

CRC Group

CRCs consist of eight 2-hour sessions that focus on relevant issues that plague youth and families today, and hinder communities from being safe, healthy and beautiful places in which to live, work, attend school and do business. CRCs are small groups that are highly interactive, and are led and managed at the community level. The eight sessions that comprise a CRC program are:

     Dangerous Situations

SESSION 4
     Field Trip to County Courts and Jail

SESSION 5
    Managing Your Anger

SESSION 7
     Reverencing our Community Elders

SESSION 8
     Respecting Yourself and Others
